FAQ

what should we expect at our family session?

a good time! this is meant to be fun and capture your family just as you are. that means you should relax, have fun and be yourselves! we will focus on getting a few posed, "christmas card" shots at the beginning of our session. after that, let the kids run and have fun! tickle them, play games - if they are camera shy, give them hugs and kisses. all of these moments are the ones i want to capture!

what should we wear?

choose a coordinating color palette rather than going with matching outfits. it's helpful to plan one outfit (maybe mom's) and then create the rest from there! I love patterns as long as not everyone is in a busy outfit. rule of thumb; one or two patterned outfits for every three people in the session.

what is the best time for our family portraits?

golden hour is always the best. this is the hour leading up to sunset, which in the summer is as late as 7/7:30pm. I know this can be late for little ones, so I suggest trying to wait until at least 2.5 hours before sunset if possible. if you want to shoot earlier in the day, we will just find a location that can provide us with some shady areas!

when will we get our photos?

I will deliver your full gallery of photos within two weeks of your session.

what if it rains?

if the forecast is calling for rain on the day of your session, I will reach out a day or two before to see if we can plan for a different time or day while you are on island. worst case scenario, if we can't reschedule before you leave island, your deposit will be credited towards a future session with me and your final payment will not be owed.
